Ricote Valley
Within an hour's drive of the La Torre Resort lies the Ricote Valley, one of the most beautiful and undiscovered areas of the Murcia region, reminiscent of it's moorish ancestry. Travelling off the main A30 motorway you find yourself driving along a fertile plain of lush agricultural land surrounded by dry rugged mountains. Eight towns (from south to north – Archena, Villanueva del Río Segura, Ulea, Ojós, Ricote, Blanca, Abarán and Cieza) straddle the valley or sit along side the River Segura.
Irrigation in the valley has been of paramount importance, and waterwheels remain in varying degrees of conservation. The area is a very productive agricultural region growing a wide variety of fruit, vegetables and flowers.

Archena
Balneario de Archena or spa resort is situated 2km from Archena centre.The thermal spring waters of the Archena Spa offer a boost to health and utter relaxation and it’s beneficial effects are well known. The spa has hot and cold plunge pools, a large warm natural water swimming pool, a lazy river and a number of jacuzzi and jacuzzi beds. The pools have fantastic views of the Ricote Valley, and it’s a lovely alternative to the beach for the whole family.
The thermal baths of Archena are open every day 7.30am-1pm & 4.30pm-7.30pm
There are superb hotels to stay in if you want to spend more than a day in Archena and they offer various health treatments and excellent food.
